I’ve known Annemarie since she was a junior in high school, when I first started dating her brother. I would write letters to her, in an attempt to get to know her better. I didn’t grow up with a sister and I was eager to learn more about the sister God was giving me. And let me tell you, she’s wild… wildly brave. One thing you will quickly learn about her is that she likes to take risks. She is not afraid to live life on the edge and that’s probably why she picked me to be her wedding photographer. My rule with loved ones was that I would not photograph their wedding in order to be present in the celebration. But Annemarie wanted me to have a bigger role in her day and so, reluctantly, I gave in. And after shooting her engagement pictures, I’m glad I didn’t say no.

There’s so much I can say about this beautiful girl, like the way she sees the good in everyone and how talented she is at telling funny stories. And yet, nothing compares to the way she loves Billy. They have been together for almost 3 years now and when I asked Billy how he knew Annemarie was the one, he said that, “she accepted him for he was”. To find unconditional love like that is hard to find and Billy knows it. I know he will take good care of my little sister.
